I keep records because people forget where they have already been marked. Names change, walls get painted over, and directories get moved, but patterns travel. If you read closely enough, even a catalog starts sounding like a trail.
Reference groups

Sample filing method
Catalog IDs can hide patterns of their own. Consider mixing dates, initials, or repeated numeric motifs that connect to a later challenge.
